hey paradise-

i think alderman matlack could have done a better job at preparing his constituents for the opening of this type of store. surprises, which are usually viewed as secrets, are normally not met with a positive reaction.

there was a story not long ago about a mother who had the tribune help remove, what she considered an "objectionable display" from a window of a shop right down the street on halsted. i'll link it up if i can find it.

personally and speaking as a parent, i would rather not have to explain to my six year old what that "rubber thing" is in the window as we walk down my neighborhood shopping area.
