When ex-con, Four Corner Hustler and would-be carjacker Malcolm Lofton spotted a 5-foot-1-inch, 125-pound woman at the wheel of a new $25,000 SUV on Wednesday night, he probably thought he'd found an easy mark.
It was the last bad decision he made.
As Lofton attempted to climb into the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder via the moonroof, shouting "I am going to kill you," the 41-year-old woman, an off-duty nine-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, plugged him with bullets from a 9mm handgun, police said Thursday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene less than two hours later on the 10900 block of South Wentworth Avenue. More from the Daily Southtown
